How do you like living as a nerd?
Embracing it yet or just missing the herd?
It is a shock that your life has turned upside down.
You were already shaken, and now you have been stirred.

You were hoping that it will be a small break.
Soon you will be back and celebrate with a cake.
But the universe had some other plans for you.
You are too petite to have any say in nature's take.

Now you are caged, forced to fix kid's desk with hammers.
For the first time, you are thinking about how to stop the spammers.
You didn't think about upgrading because it wasn't your job.
No wonder now you are fighting to find Cobol programmers.

Operating Systems, USB types, Noise Cancellation, How does AC work?
Whatsapp, Hangouts, Skype, Duo, and even Zoom has quirks.
You found a few high-grade products that Apple doesn't make.
It is not your fault that thinking beyond PowerPoint irks.

You are scared that one day you will explode into tears.
You still have a TV which is permeating you with fears.
Finding the motivation to comb your hair or leave them defiled
has never been a choice about which you had to smear.

Not to worry, I am here to help you, Dr. Furred.
Finally, I am proud that Ich bin ein nerd.
Living in a cacoon was not a waste of life, after all.
Sometimes you do need a spare, which is called third.

Learn from me how I have created a universe in my room.
I read books to learn about all the scenarios of doom.
How I convinced myself to find contentment in my work.
To find happiness in my thoughts and a habit of looking beyond the gloom.

How I keep my spirits up with guitar and songs about rain.
How I watch philosophy on YouTube to push through the pain.
How I created a Spotify playlist named motivation.
How I solve puzzles which help me tickle my brain.

How I found the courage to quit Facebook and shun the noise.
How I found inspiration in board games and toys.
How my awareness about my choices of movies
helps me keep my spirits high, and my mind poise.

Now you observe those little moments as glee.
Now you have a taste for simplicity; you are finally free.
You are where I have always been waiting for you.
Well, of course, I am you, and you are me.

Let me know if you need any help with your drones.
I might even fix sound problems of your microphones.
Reach out to me to discuss how to cope with the stress.
And we might end up laughing at the shape of traffic cones.

When your laptop hangs, don't give yourself strain.
Sometimes the best solution is to turn it off and on again.
Contribute knowledge to a community when you have time.
The only way to win is to give without any expectation of gain.

I wonder if you will remember this when you finally flee.
Either way, you deserve clouds, grasslands, and sea.
